
Obituary of Bobby Sullivan
Bobby Ellis Sullivan of Cape Fair, MO., formerly of Brownsville, TN. lost his battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome Monday, July 30, 2018 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. He was 82.
He was born in Brownsville, TN. July 23, 1936 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Sullivan and was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James Sullivan, Edward (Bo) Sullivan and Billy Sullivan and 1 sister, Margaret Sullivan Shoffner. Bobby graduated from Haywood High School in Brownsville where he was active in sports. He was on the varsity football team. He went to work for South Central Bell and then for Millington Telephone Co. for many years. He owned his own telephone company in Missouri, Sullivan and Moore Installation. Bobby and wife, Karen owned and operated Pebble Beach Resort in Cape Fair, MO. and he also became a professional bass fisherman, sponsored by Coleman Outdoors, Ranger Boats and Stratos Boats. During the 30 years he was on the tournament trail he took home many 1st place trophies, boats, prize money and was on the cover of multiple magazines. He was known in his area as "Mr. Table Rock". One reason he enjoyed participating so much was that he made so many great friends. Bobby was also in the cattle business. He loved farming, as he came from a farming family. He was well known for his registered red angus cattle.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Karen of Cape Fair, MO.; 4 sons, David Sullivan of Brownsville, TN., Tony Sullivan of Covington, TN., Billy Sullivan of Brownsville, TN. and Andy Sullivan of Covington, TN.; one daughter, Dana Sullivan King of Meridian, MS.; 3 sisters, Ruth Sullivan Davis, Dorothy Sullivan Leathers and Shirley Sullivan Wallace; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3 at 10:00 a.m. in Lea and Simmons Funeral home in Brownsville, TN. Burial will follow in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
