Woodrow's Obituary
Mr. Woodrow "Nervy" Winbush, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Regional Hospital in Jackson, TN. Mr. Winbush was a faithful member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and a retired carpenter. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army. He coached his sons and many neighborhood kids in baseball. "Nervy," as he was lovingly known by his grandchildren and most everyone else, had a great love for the game. He attended most of the baseball games played in Bells during his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Winbush and Minnie Eaves Winbush; his wife: Janie Earlene Holt Winbush; five brothers: Joe Winbush, John Winbush, Bill Winbush, Odie Winbush, and Robert Winbush; two sisters: Annie Bell Winberry, and Blondell Taylor; a son: Larry Wayne Winbush; and a daughter: Jan Carolyn Tate. Funeral services will be held under the direction of the Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes at Walnut Hill Baptist Church, Bells, TN, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at 2:00 P. M. with Dr. John Farrar and Larry Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Bells, TN. Mr. Winbush is survived by two sons: Harold Miller, Jackson, TN, and Jimmy Winbush, (Martha Ann), Bells, TN; two daughters: Sandra Hart, (Ronnie), and Patty Scarbrough, (Jimmy), Trenton, TN; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, his church family and friends.
