Wilma's Obituary
Mrs. Wilma Carter Sullivan, age 101, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010, at her residence in Brownsville, TN .She was born on March 8, 1908 in Haywood County, TN to the late Montie Zume Carter and Lutie Barcroft Carter . She was also preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Edward Sullivan; a son: Edward Earl Sullivan; two brothers: Cecil Carter , and Montie Zume Carter Jr.; and seven sisters: Martha Hornsby, Edna Watridge, Lutie Lovelace, Kate Forsythe, Ruby Taylor, Betty Smith, and Molly Lewis. "Miss Wilma" as she was known by the members of her beloved church family at Holly Grove Baptist Church, was a life long member. She celebrated her 95th birthday and her 63rd anniversary as a Sunday school worker at Holly Grove before ill health forced her to turn her class over to Linda Murphy, her assistant teacher, and retire to her church at home where she continued to pray and make phone calls for the Lord. She taught the ladies Sunday school class for over 50 years and was an active member of the Woman's Missionary Union and other church activities. Miss Wilma is survived by her daughter: Shirley Ann Dickinson, Brownsville, TN; three grandsons: Clint Dickinson, and Eddie Sullivan, both of Brownsville, TN, and Chris Dickinson, Nashville, TN; and four great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Brownsville Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 16, 2010 with Bro. Dewey Jones, Bro. John Adams and Dr. Fred Campbell officiating.
