Mr. William Mann affectionately known as "Mac" was born on July 28, 1947 to the union of Mr. James Edward Mann and Mrs. Daisy Mae Barbee-Mann in Brownsville, TN. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was Baptized uniting with Woodlawn Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Flagg Grove and Carver High School and because he was a genius with his hands, he was well ahead of his time. When he was in the 8th grade he started working on motors. He was the first person in Haywood County who made a motor cart for his brothers and sisters to ride. By the time he was 20, he was taking apart and putting cars back together and had his own shop. He was employed at Riley's Oil Industry for over 30 years where he was affectionately called "Bill".
Mac was the family comedian whenever he entered the room, you knew you were in for floor dropping laughter. He would not tolerate sadness. He always had a spirit of Joy. He was also straight forward and told it like it is. He will be truly missed.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2013 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
