William Jefferson Benard, Sr.

Mr. William Jefferson Benard, Sr., age 90 passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Benard was preceded in death by his parents: Jeff and Maggie Benard, one son: William Phillip Benard, one brother: Aubrey Benard and two sisters: Collis Evans and Lillian Sills. He is survived by his wife: Gladys Benard, Jackson, TN, one son: William Benard, Jr. (Lisa), Jackson, TN, two daughters: Barbara Simpson (Sammy), Bolivar, TN, and Helen Webb, Henning, TN, three brothers: Bobby Benard, Covington, TN, Joe Benard and James Benard, both of Jackson, TN, two sisters: Dorothy Crocker, West Memphis, AR, Mary Austin, Hillville, TN, eight grandchildren: Sammy Simpson, III, Ralph Simpson, Josh Simpson, William L. Benard, Stormie Webb, Kimberly Smallwood, D.J. Firmin, Brooke Byrd and fifteen great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant UMC Cemetery, c/o Danny Watson, 1234 Hillville Loop, Whiteville, TN 38075.
