Virginia 'Jean' Marcum Cooke, age 83, of Brownsville, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at her residence. She was born in Hardeman County, TN, and raised in Middleton, TN. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, a retired employee of Stackpole Limited and Comfort Inn, and preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Walter Wayne Cooke. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2015, at Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes in Brownsville, Tennessee, and 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Zion Baptist Church in Brownsville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Zion Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Edward Earl Marbury with interment to follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Legions, Scottie Morris, Shannon Cooke, Brad Williams, Richard Piner, and Bradley Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Rick) Legions of Jackson, TN; her brother, Edward (Elizabeth) Marcum of Bolivar, TN; her sister, Helen Stiner of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Elisha (Richard) Piner and Shawn Legions; and four great grandchildren, Luke Legions, Caroline Piner, Carson Piner, and Chase Piner. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lee and Carrie Lee Archie Marcum; her son, Michael Wayne Cooke; and two brothers, Elmer 'Slim' Marcum and James Marcum.
