Viola Charles Denton

Viola Charles Denton January 5, 1941 - January 22, 2018 Mrs. Viola Stafford Denton age 77 of Brownsville, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born January 5, 1941 in Ballard County, KY to the late Harry Stafford and Alice Kore Stafford. Though a homemaker, she was much more than that as she served alongside her husband in ministering and sharing the gospel. Mrs. Denton was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Richard Denton of Brownsville; son, Richard Leon Denton of Eldon, IA; Pamela Denton Diebold of Brownsville; sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Armstrong of Kevil, KY. Other survivors include five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Denton was conducted Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Union Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale King and Rev. James Haley officiating. The Denton family received friends on Thursday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Union Grove United Methodist Church or the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 1107 Clyde Elrod Avenue, Kevil, KY 42053 c/o Mary Armstrong in memory of Mrs. Denton.
