Vickie Maness Evans, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Haywood County Community Hospital in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Koonce officiating.  Burial will follow at the Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Brownsville, TN.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.  

Vickie enjoyed a fulfilling career as a teacher in the Montgomery County School System, dedicating 18 years to nurturing and inspiring her students. Her love for teaching extended beyond the classroom, as she frequently tutored students, sharing her remarkable ability to simplify complex concepts—many regarded her as a human calculator due to her impressive knowledge and skill in mathematics.  She will be remembered as a dedicated educator and a beloved member of her community.

Vickie was a woman of deep faith and Baptist in her beliefs. Her personality was characterized by her thoughtfulness and her commitment to thinking of others, which endeared her to many. She had a passion for reading, spending countless hours engrossed in the written word, which further enriched her life and the lives of those around her.

Vickie is survived by two sons, Josh Evans Tetzlaff (Trevor) of Hampton, VA, and Michael Evans (Paige) of Orlando, FL; her mother, Annie Lee Reasons Maness of Brownsville, TN, and her brothers, Kenneth Autry Maness, Ronnie Lee Maness of Brownsville, TN, and Jeffery Maness of Trezevant, TN; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold dear the memories of their time together. Vickie's legacy will endure through the lives she touched, both in education and in her unwavering faith and kindness.  She was preceded in death by her father, Clellon Autry Maness, and her sister, Connie Lee Maness.

Vickie was also a devoted companion to her beloved cat, Bo, who brought her comfort and joy.

Pallbearers for the service will be Josh Tetzlaff, Michael Evans, Trevor Tetzlaff, Ken Maness, Danny Maness and Preston Manley.

The family has requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD  21741. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
