Vernon William's Obituary Mr. Vernon William Thomas Martin Jr., age 66 of Brownsville passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Mr. Martin was born in Haywood County on August 22, 1950 to the late Vernon William Thomas Martin Sr. and Jessie Marie Elrod Martin. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Whiteville, TN. Mr. Martin was an avid collector of diecast cars and enjoyed fishing. In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Robert “Shorty” Martin and one sister: Margaret Ann Martin. Mr. Martin is survived by one son: Vernon William Thomas Martin III of Savannah, TN; one daughter: Angelia Noe of Brownsville, TN; four brothers: Thomas Martin and wife Beverly of Dancyville, TN, Kenneth “Sponge” Martin of the CoCo Community, Edward Lynn “Skin” Martin and wife Marie of Brownsville and Bobby Glenn Martin and wife Sandy of Somerville, TN; two sisters: Dorothy Tackett and husband Chris of Raleigh, TN and Mattie Lou Qualls and husband Dewayne of Hillville, TN. He leaves a legacy of 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his loving fur companion of 8 years, Little Man. A Memorial Gathering to celebrate the life of Mr. Martin will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Dancyville Assembly of God at 11:00 AM with Mr. Thomas Martin officiating.
