Vera's Obituary
Mrs. Vera Jean Swindle King age 74 of Gadsden, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at her residence.
She was born November 23, 1943 to the late Johnny Swindle and Dolly New Swindle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Sally Walls, Opal Hopkins, Junior Swindle, Thurman Swindle and Gennie Swindle.
Survivors include two sons, Tracy Cottner, Jr (Brenda) of Alamo and Ronald Riggs of Paris; two daughters, Lisa Trepper of Oklahoma and Stephanie Kuhl (Johnny) of Missouri; three sisters, Helen Moore of Texas, Loretta Truell of Bells and Mildred Swindle of Millsville. Other survivors include four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. King was conducted Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Bells Funeral Home with Bro. William Harrell officiating. The King family received friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, in memory of Mrs. King.
