Vaida Canady Leggett

Vaida Bonnie Canady Leggett, age 88, went to her heavenly home, Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Sugar Creek Senior Living Community in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM, Graveside, at the Oakwood Cemetery with Bro. J.P. Barden officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service.

Vaida was born on October 11, 1936, to William Henry and Lela Jewel Austin Canady in Brownsville, TN. She worked for Lasco Industries for over thirty years as a parts supervisor. Vaida loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a dedicated member and served as Treasurer and Custodian at Calvary Baptist Church. She served her Lord at Calvary Baptist until its closing and then she chose to continue serving at New Vision Baptist Church. Vaida was loved and loved her church family and will be missed by everyone that had the honor of knowing her.

Vaida is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Killen and Debbie Young (Billy), both of Brownsville, TN. She also leaves one grandson, Daniel Shane Stephens, and one great grandson, Daniel Shane Stephens, Jr. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Roy Lynn Leggett; two brothers, Marshall Canady and Cecil Canady; and one son in law, Bob Killen.

All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
