Tommy Joe's Obituary Mr. Tommy Joe Powell age 64 of Bells, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born December 22, 1953 in Humboldt to the late Billy Joe Powell and Josephine Kate Powell. Mr. Powell retired from CSX after thirty-seven years and was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Barbara Anthony Powell; son, Scotty Powell and wife Kristina of Spring Hill; daughter, Megan Chapman and husband Andrew of Bells. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Jack Powell, Luke Powell and Sadie Kate Chapman. Serving as pallbearers are Tommy McLemore, Jim Kail, Dale Cruse, Roger Dillion, Jeff Tucker and Steve Carr. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Harrell, Roger Harrell and Benny Coulston. Funeral services for Mr. Powell will be conducted Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Bells Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Robertson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from noon until the service hour.
