Fred Thomas "Tommy" Poindexter, 68, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, TN. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Nutbush, TN. A visitation for the Poindexter family will be Friday evening, April 18, 2014, 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. and Saturday, April 19, 2014, 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Poindexter was preceded in death by his parents: James Hershel and Lecta Cawthon Poindexter and one brother: Christopher Poindexter. He is survived by his wife: Gayla Poindexter, Memphis, TN, one son: Michael Robertson (Corrie) Milan, TN, one daughter: Stacye Jeter (Wilson) Paris, TN, one brother: Stephen Poindexter (Sherry) Camden, TN, two grandchildren: Kaitlin and Conner Jeter, two nephews: Michael Mosley, Steve Poindexter (Abby) two nieces: Cissy Mosley Bowker (Adam) and Stephanie Poindexter Swain (Don).
