Thad's Obituary
Thad Thomas, age 84, of the Koko Community, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Mr. Thomas, a loving husband, father and grandfather, was a member of the Springhill United Methodist Church where he was a former Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher. He retired as foreman with over 30 years service from A.N.R. Pipeline Company. He began farming with his father at a young age and continued farming his own land until his retirement when he continued helping his son. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Army, stationed in Alaska, during the Korean War. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes in Brownsville, TN, and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2014, at Springhill United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2014, at Springhill United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. John Banks with interment to follow in the Springhill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Bertha Annelle Myers Thomas of the Koko Community ; two sons, David Wilson (Melinda) Thomas of Paris, TN and Darrell Edward Thomas of the Koko Community; two daughters, Debbie Kaye (Joel) Sullivan of Jackson, TN and Denita Michelle (Hal) Jarratt of Brownsville, TN; two brothers, Eugene (Ruth) Thomas of Germantown, TN and Wayne Thomas of Little Rock, AR; six grandchildren, Countney (Brent) Brush, Tyler Sullivan, Will (Brandi) Thomas, Taylor Thomas, Payton Jarratt, Daniel Thomas and one great grandchild, Karlyn Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Wilson and Mabel Edith Stuart Thomas; three brothers, Joseph, Jesse and Albert Thomas; and two sisters, Sarah Crowe and Margaret Holland. Pallbearers are Tyler Sullivan, Will Thomas, Payton Jarratt, Daniel Thomas, Brent Brush, Hal Jarratt, Joel McAlexander and Richard Thomas.
