Susan Coppedge Joyner, age 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home in Jackson, TN on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Marvin's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015, 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Susan was a member of the White's Chapel Baptist Church where she served as the pianist. She had a passion for music, she was an accomplished pianist, guitarist, singer and songwriter. She also wrote countless poems and short stories. Susan also loved traveling, especially to the Caribbean. Her faith in the blood of Jesus and her love for the Lord was evident, and she strived to teach her children and grandchildren the Gospel. Her family will miss her beautiful smile, hilarity and quick wit, her sage advice, the stories of her youth, hearing her play the piano and her love and unwavering support. Susan was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Hilliard and Lucy Jane Howard Coppedge, her first husband: Charles Harry Douglass, her second husband: Billy Brown Joyner and her sister: Linda Belle Coppedge. She is survived by one son: Keith Douglass, Jackson, TN, two daughters: Carmen McCage (Doug) Eads, TN, Susannah Joyner Lewis (Jason) Medina, TN, four grandchildren: Larry Douglas McCage III, Charles Tanner McCage, Natalie Ann Lewis and Bennett Brown Walker Lewis, and her loving partner: Mick Hinde.
