Steven's Obituary
Mr. Steven Gregory, Greg Jackson age 55 of Beech Bluff, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his residence.
He was born January 8, 1962 in Madison County to the late William Curtiss Jackson and Betty Jo Sanders Jackson. Mr. Jackson worked at the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus for many years.
Survivors include three brothers, W. C. Jackie Jackson and wife Wanda of Jackson, Richard Mike Jackson of Medon and Ricky Lee Jackson of Beech Bluff; two sisters, Debra DJ Washington of Beech Bluff and Lisa Renee Billingsley ad husband Craig of Franklin; five nieces and nephews, Kelli, Brandon, Mandie and husband Jeremy, Matt and wife Danielle, and Ashley; five great nephews, Brody, Jackson, Ayden, Braylon and Cooper. Other survivors include his best friend, Gina Dorris of Jackson as well as his loving dogs and companions, AJ, Lucy and Elmo.
Greg enjoyed grilling out, taking care of his yard, and listening to music. He liked Elvis, Willie Nelson, Lynard Skynard, the Beatles, and many other classic bands. He enjoyed watching the Tennessee Titans and NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt Jr.). He loved working at Lambuth and had many good friends there. Greg loved all animals. He enjoyed watching the deer, rabbits and squirrels from his back deck. Animals loved him as well. All the pets that entered his house found their way to his room. Most of all, Greg loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. He faced his final days with great courage and strength. In the end, he was ready to go Home to be with Jesus, his parents, and all of his beloved animals that have gone before him.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Greg Jack Jackson will be conducted Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the R.E. Womack Memorial Chapel on the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus with Reverend Steven Fonfille officiating. The Jackson family will receive friends on Saturday at the R.E. Womack Memorial Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or to the Jackson Madison County Humane Society at www.jmchs.org in memory of Mr. Jackson.
