Solon Jacocks

Solon's Obituary Mr. Solon L. Jacocks (Whitey) age 91 of Brownsville, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Sugar Creek Senior Living Community. The Jacocks formerly resided at The Plantation in Leesburg, Florida. He was born February 6, 1926 in Madison County to the late Arthur Wayland Jacocks and Myra Lee Joyner Jacocks. During Mr. Jacocks career, he was a successful salesman in the hardware industry working for Belknap and Moore-Handley until his retirement. He and his wife were both passionate about golf and college football, especially the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Mr. Jacocks was a member of Brownsville First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J.T. Jacocks. Survivors include his wife of seventy-one years, Marceline Matthews Jacocks of Brownsville; son, Roy Jacocks and wife Patricia of Ohio; daughter, Regina Hubbard and husband Jon of Arkansas. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Ryan Jacocks and wife Karley, Shane Hubbard and wife Mookda and Rus Hubbard and wife Heather as well as two great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Jessie Jacocks, Rus Hubbard, Shane Hubbard, Ryan Jacocks, Charles David Rutland, Mitch Ammons and Danny Murley. Graveside services for Mr. Solon L. Jacocks will be conducted Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Belleview Cemetery with Bro. Sammy Tillman officiating and burial to follow.
