Shirley Ruth Phillips' Obituary Shirley Ruth (Phillips) Cox, "Momma Shirley" age 64 of Decaturville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2016, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Agnes (Mayo) Phillips; husband, Kenneth Cox; son, Timmy Alexander; two sisters, Melba Swindle, Magdalene Newton; brothers, Bill Phillips, Vernon (Mousie) Phillips and three infant brothers. Mrs. Cox is survived by her sons, Tommy (Tammie) Alexander of Decaturville, TN; Kenneth Jr. (Bonnie) Cox of Henderson, TN; Robert (Sheila) Cox of Scotts Hill, TN and Kerry (Sheena) Cox of Henderson, TN; a sister, Diane (John) Stewart of Decaturville, TN. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Brett “Alexander” Wilkins, Brianna Gieseler, Preslee Alexander, Holly (T.J) Elrod, Dru Alexander, Kali Alexander, Savannah Alexander, Cody (Tara) Cox, Matthew Cox, Christian Cox, Christopher Blackstock, Amanda Chandler and Clayton Cox as well as five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Cox will be conducted on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Gray’s Chapel Pentecostal Church with Bells Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Bro. Gene Robinson, Bro. Terry Pearcy and Bro. Welvon Mayo will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Cox family will receive friends at Gray’s Chapel Pentecostal Church beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Lynn Newton, Steven Ray Phillips, Charles Corey Stewart, Michael Phillips, Kevin Williams, Bull Mayo, Jason Harris and JM Cox.
