Shelvia's Obituary
Mrs. Shelvia Jean Cathey Outlaw age 80 of Bells, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1937 in Crockett County to the late David Edward Cathey and Louise Wright Cathey. Mrs. Outlaw was a homemaker and member of Providence United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Autry Cathey, sister, Reba Cathey and a son in law, Steve Clark.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie E. Outlaw of Bells; daughter, Sonia Outlaw-Clark of Bells; son, Mark Outlaw and wife Bethany of Bells; sister Jean Cummings of Maury City. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Laura Outlaw, Matthew Outlaw, Gabriel Outlaw and Miles Kirby and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Berkley Cobb, Michael Morris, Keith Simpson, Randy Joyner, Jim Davis and Tripp Crook.
Funeral services for Mrs. Outlaw will be conducted Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Rob Kirts officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The Outlaw family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday from Noon until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be directed to Providence United Methodist Church, Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice, in memory of Mrs. Outlaw.
