Mrs. Serafina Ascencio, age 55 passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation for the Ascencio family will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mrs. Ascencio was preceded in death by her mother: Elvira Bautista. She is survived by her husband: Avelino Ascencio, Bells, TN, her father: Juan Matias, one son: Luis Ascencio, nine brothers and sisters: Ofelia Matias Bautista, Celia Matias Bautista, Conzuelo Matias Bautista, Jorge Matias Bautista, Juan Matias Bautista, Ruben Matias Bautista, Leobardo Matias Bautista, Graciela Matias Bautista and Juvenal Matias Bautista and three grandchildren: Edgar, Luis and Josue Ascencio.
