Sara's Obituary Mrs. Sara Covington Andreas, age 76 of Brownsville, formerly of Memphis, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at her home. She was born in Memphis on October 6, 1939 to the late Clifton Carlos Covington and Arma Brown Covington. Her husband, LCDR. Scott R. Andreas, (USNRET) preceded her in death in 2014. Mrs. Andreas graduated from Southside High School then Memphis State University and was an avid Tiger fan as her blood ran blue and grey. She was an educator in Memphis for thirty years, a Brownie Scout leader for twenty years as well as having served in numerous leadership positions for her children’s schools. She was a member of Faith Christian Church where she led and taught in the children’s ministry. Survivors include her son, Craig Andreas Sr. and wife Sonia of Hernando, MS; daughter, Carla Thompson and husband Bob of Brownsville; one sister, Betty Covington Bodry of Memphis. Other survivors include five grandchildren as well as her faithful companion, Sebastian. Graveside services for Mrs. Andreas will be held at Memphis Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Robert Palmer officiating. A celebration of life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Faith Christian Church, 3050 Central Ave., Memphis, TN (In the rear of the Pink Palace).
