Ryan Elliott

d. March 12, 2020

James “Ryan” Elliott, 36, originally from Jackson, Tennessee, died in Scott, Louisiana on March 12, 2020, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident involving a drunk driver. He was born September 11, 1983, in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of James “Brent” Elliott and Sheryl “Sherry” (Kail) Elliott. Ryan attended East Union Daycare before starting school in the Jackson-Madison County school system and maintained friendships with some of his daycare buddies throughout his adult life. He attended Pope Elementary, Highland Park Elementary, Parkway Middle School, Tigrett Middle School and graduated from Jackson-Central Merry High School. He received a degree in computer networking from Jackson State Community College and attended The University of Tennessee, Martin. In his youth, Ryan played T-Ball, county league football, church league basketball and received his brown belt in Tae kwon do. He started playing the trumpet in middle school and continued through high school as part of the marching band. He enjoyed spending time with friends, fishing and riding motorcycles with his dad and playing video games. He attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Tennessee and was active in the youth program through elementary, middle and high school. He started working at Wal-Mart when he was in high school and continued while he was in college. Ryan moved to Louisiana in 2014 where he enjoyed living and working. He installed and maintained satellite communication equipment on oil rigs and towers for Tampnet. He loved the opportunity to climb the towers and frequently took selfies with a huge grin on his face while he was at the top of a tower. He had the opportunity to ride his beloved motorcycle most of the year due to the mild weather in the area and rode every chance he got with his best friend Stephen. He made a great life in Louisiana and loved his job, his friends and life in general. He had a huge heart and was always ready to help a friend in any way he could.
