Dr. Rufus' Obituary Dr. Rufus Marion Taylor, Jr., age 92, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Southerland Place Assisted Living in Germantown, TN. Dr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents: Rufus Marion Taylor, Sr. and Nettie Cook Taylor; his wife: Christine Chambers Taylor; a brother: Jack Benard Taylor; and twin great-grandchildren: Maxwell Harrison Taylor and Shelby Bryn Taylor. Dr. Taylor was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Brownsville, TN. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the American Optimetrical Association and an optometrist in Brownsville for several years before retiring to live near his children and grandchildren in Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at St. John's Catholic Church, Brownsville, TN, under the direction of the Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Robert Favazza officiating. Visitation will be held at Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes Chapel, Brownsville, TN, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Dr. Taylor is survived by his son: Timothy Patrick Taylor Sr, (Pam) , Memphis, TN; his daughter: Terri Taylor Wright, Bartlett, TN; his sister: Paula Taylor DeStefanis, Memphis, TN; five grandchildren: Timothy P. Taylor Jr., (Wendy), Tracy Taylor Moore, (Joe), Paul Michael Wright, Eric Wilson Wright, and Tabitha Paige Taylor; four great-grandchildren: Brittaney Legens, Kaylee Legens, Andrew Moore and Caroline Moore.
