Ruby Jewell Stanfield

Ruby Jewell Stanfield, age 88, of Ripley, TN, departed this life on Monday, February 17, 2025, at her residence in Lauderdale County. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 12 Noon at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Bob Connerley officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodville Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday Evening, February 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. 

Ruby was born on March 2, 1936, in Lauderdale County. Her life was enriched by her love of family and gathering with them through the years. Whether it was a holiday, birthday, or just getting together, she loved being surrounded by her family. Faith was also important to her. She was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. She enjoyed her church, and she loved gardening, quilting and cooking. 

Ruby is survived by her son, Chris Stanfield (Nadia) of Brownsville, TN; her daughters, Janice Spencer (Jesse) of Ripley, TN, and Rita Nelson (Mark) of Ripley, TN; her brother, Terry Scallions (Janice) of Brownsville, TN; her sisters, Molly LaBonte (Don) of Ripley, TN and Pam Jackson of Ripley, TN. Her legacy will continue through her 11 grandchildren, Ashley Arwood, Raymond Arwood, Casey Jones, Tabitha Kirkpatrick, Rocky Webb, Andrew Stanfield, Shelby Hartline, Stephanie Young, Sandy Harbrough, Brandy Griffin, and Annie Jo Lott, as well as by her 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. R.C. Stanfield; her parents, Raymond Scallions and Myrtle Maude Kirby Scallions; two sons, Steve Stanfield and Talbert Stanfield; two daughters, Janet Arwood and Debra Ann Stanfield; one granddaughter, Lisa Voss; two brothers, James “Bubba” Scallions and Leonard Scallions, and two sisters, Marie Daniels and Linda Watkins. 

Pallbearers for the service will be Rocky Webb, Andrew Stanfield, Andy Kirkpatrick, Drew Blakley, Morgan Hartline, and Hunter Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Griffin and Joey Medina. 

The family has requested Memorials be given to the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
