Robert "Bob" Kolwyck, 85, passed away in his home in Brownsville, TN, Thursday, March 3, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2 PM with Dr. H.K. Sorrell and Rev. Bob Connerley officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kolwyck; Brownsville, TN, a daughter: Linda Tabor (Michael) Jackson, TN; two grandsons: Rob Tabor, Nashville, TN and Lee Tabor, Memphis, TN; five brothers: Charles Kolwyck, Barstow, CA, Neal Kolwyck, Campbell, CA, J.T. Kolwyck, Roseville, CA, Henry Kolwyck, Lexington, TN and Glenn Kolwyck, Cordova, TN. Mr. Kolwyck served in the U. S. Army in World War II and was awarded the Silver Star Medal. He along with his wife Dorothy, owned and operated Kolwyck's Big Star from 1965 until retirement in 1991. He was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. A visitation for the Kolwyck family will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 5 until 7 PM in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
