Robert Lewis Hughes

Robert Lewis Hughes age 94, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Sugar Creek Assisted Living Center.  Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be conducted on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 12:00 P.M.  in the Brownsville Baptist Church. Entombment will follow the Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.  in Brownsville Baptist Church. Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Franklin and Ruby Christmas Hughes, two brothers, Hallie Hughes, James Hughes and a sister, Billie Hughes Nonemaker.  He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Carolyn Taylor Hughes, Brownsville, TN, two sons, Robert “Bob” Lewis Hughes, Jr. (Cheryl), Delaware, OH, Jerry Hughes (Chris), Pawleys Island, South Carolina, two sisters, Dorothy Hughes Taylor, Memphis, TN, Mary Louise Gillespie, Brownsville, TN, two grandchildren:  Cynthia Tkach (Rob) and Michelle Cashner; five great grandchildren:  Andrew Tkach, Alex Tkach, Joel Cashner, Justin Cashner and Jenna Cashner.  Special friends, Barbara and Dan Reasons.   The family would like to extend their gratitude for the excellent care received by their extended family at Sugar Creek.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brownsville Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
