Mr. Robert Franklin Fawcett age 82 of Brownsville, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tn
He was born on July 15, 1935 in Hardeman County to the late George Alton Fawcett and Late Mary Mae Beshires Fawcett. Mr. Fawcett retired from the Brownsville Utility Department after 28 years. He was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and a member of the Haywood County Rescue Squad. Mr. Fawcett was the former caretaker and served on the board of directors for Wesley Lake.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fawcett is preceded in death by his wife Martha Spencer Fawcett, whom he was married to for fifty-one years; one brother, Hollis Fawcett; one sister, Gladys Fawcett; son-in-law, Rickey Joe Ridley.
Survivors include his son Robert Franklin (Frank) Fawcett Jr of Ohio; daughter, Sherry Fawcett Smith (Patrick) of Brownsville; brother, John Fawcett (Mary) of Illinois; two sisters, Hazel Orr (James) of Arkansas and Irene Orr (Frank) of Arkansas. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Celia Ridley Simmons (Dane) of South Carolina, Robert Edward Fawcett of Jackson and Justin Chavers of Brownsville as well as two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lukas Fawcett.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Services for Mr. Fawcett will be conducted on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Connerley, officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Nutbush. The Fawcett family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
