Donald (Donnie) Carrington

Robert Donald (Donnie) Carrington, age 74, departed this life and received his new, glorified body on July 27, 2024. He passed away peacefully at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Donnie was born on May 8, 1950, in Holly Springs, MS. He proudly joined the United States Navy in 1970 and was a steadfast veteran during the Vietnam War. He loved his time at the veteran home and was especially loved by the staff who laughed at him and with him. He was a prankster and would banter with them. He enjoyed watching action movies and playing games on his phone. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Garner Carrington and Aunt Margaret Carrington Risen Rikard. He is survived by his wife, Mary Carrington; one son, Edwin Carrington of Paris, TN; one sister, Tracy Beasley (David) of Paris, TN; one brother, Dale Carrington of Utah; four nephews and one niece. He and his cousin, Sandra Glover, were as close as siblings. He will be greatly missed by his family.
