Robbie Lou Hayes Day, age 81, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at her residence in Memphis, TN. She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church, a retired safety coordinator, teacher and bus driver for several Shelby Co. daycares and also a retired court clerk for Haywood County, TN. Mrs. Day loved gardening, decorating and floral arranging. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes in Brownsville, TN. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, October 12, 2014, at Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes, officiated by Bro. Larry Sweeney and Bro. Billy Connally. Interment will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens, Garden of Devotion, located in Brownsville, TN. Mrs. Day is survived by her son, CAPT. John A. Day Jr. US NAVY of Brownsville, TN; a close family friend, Cassaundra Pipkin of Memphis, TN; one sister, Brenda Hayes Tolliver of Memphis, TN; two nephews, Brennan M. Tolliver and Jason Jacques of Atlanta, GA; one grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Russell Hayes and Veltie Irena Turner Hayes; an infant brother; a daughter, Leesa Robin Day; and ex-husband, John A. Day, Sr. Pallbearers will be J.D. Choate, David Mohon, Jack Fox, Mark Griffy, Jim Ennis, Chaplin Jeff Rice, Pepe Lopez and Hairo Lopez. Honorary pallbearers are Allan Coe, Fred Lidstone and Twyman Towry.
