Mr. Richard "Dickie" Parks, age 75, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at his home in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, August 7, 2016, at 3:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. and Sunday, August 7, 2016, 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Parks was born and raised in Haywood County and lived here all his life. He was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church, a farmer, a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and avid Memphis State Tiger Fan. He retired after 40 years as a Sergeant Major in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard E. "Dodie" and Will Allen Kendrick Parks. He is survived by his wife: Joe Ann Parks, Brownsville, TN, his children: Lori Parks (Jim) Brownsville, TN, Jill Parks Jordan (Brent) Alamo, TN, mother of Lori and Jill: Mary Alice Williams, Brownsville, TN, Tamera Pope, Brownsville, TN, Tony Canaday (Laura) Corinth, MS, nine grandchildren: Zack Christian, Erin Christian, Tucker Jordan, Brent Crawford, Austin Crawford, Kayla Crawford, Aaron Canaday, Bethany Canaday, Drew Canaday and one great-grandchild: Molly Canaday.
