Richard's Obituary Mr. Richard Lennie Overton age 89 of Brownsville, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Bells Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 7, 1927 in Haywood County to the late Roy Overton, Sr. and Myrtle Hill Overton. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lynn Mathias Overton and a brother, Charles Overton. Mr. Overton is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Pearson and husband Bob of Jackson; two brothers, Roy Overton, Jr. and wife Marilyn of Ripley and Jamie Overton and wife Patti of Georgia. Other survivors include two grandsons, Seth Pearson and Bryce Pearson both of Jackson. Serving as pallbearers are Bob Pearson, Seth Pearson, Bryce Pearson, David Overton, Terry Mathias and Bill Stevens. Funeral services for Mr. Richard Overton will be conducted Monday, December 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. The Overton family will receive friends on Monday at the Brownsville Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. The Overton family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and wonderful care of Mr. Richard while at the Bells Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
