BELLS - Mr. Richard Dwight Davy, age 50, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born in Chester County on June 26, 1965, to Nona Barnett Davy and the late Richard Densmore Davy. Richard graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin and furthered his education receiving his Masters Degree from the University of Memphis. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Bells. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, wood working and was very active in the Bells community. Richard was currently the Director of Schools for Bells Elementary. Previously he was principal of McKenzie Elementary School as well as serving in various roles at Crockett County High School where most remember him as the agriculture teacher and FFA advisor. He was a family manHe loved his family and always had a positive outlook on everything. Though Richard spent his life educating children, his main focus was loving them. His inspiration and love was easily seen each and every day he walked down the halls by not only the children but faculty and parents as well. He is survived by his wife, Tammie Jordan Davy of Bells, TN; two sons, Bradley Warren (Elizabeth) of Nashville and Dusty Warren (Kelly) of Memphis; one sister, Sheila Long (Macdale) of Clarksville; two Grandchildren, Abby Kate Warren and Tyler Warren. Funeral Services for Mr. Richard Dwight Davy will be conducted on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 10:00 am at Bells Elementary School Gymnasium with Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes, Bells Chapel in charge of arrangements. Rev. Dennis Davis, pastor of First Baptist Church of Bells will officiate. Interment will follow in Cypress United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bells. The Davy family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Bells Elementary School Gymnasium.
