Rex's Obituary
Rex Eldridge Norville, age 79 died peacefully on April 17, 2011 following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Homer Norville and Hara Giles Norville; three brothers, Barney Norville, Harold Norville and Melvin Norville. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Powell Norville; one daughter, Jennifer Norville Atkinson and husband Carey from Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Riley, Sydney, Andrew and Jonathan; two sisters, Annie Floye Hulme and Margaret Edwards; two brothers, Dan Norville and Tracy Norville and a host of loving relatives. Mr. Norville was a graduate of Bells High School and Lambuth University and did graduate work at Vanderbilt Divinity School. He was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He served as Methodist Minister for churches in Lexington, Lewisburg, Nashville and Jackson. He worked for many years in Real Estate as a Broker, Developer and General Contractor. He was the owner of Old Hickory Homes, Inc. He was a member of Evangelical Community Church, where one of his greatest joys was teaching second grade Sunday School with his wife. He loved Jesus, his family, his friends and his country. Pallbearers are Curtis Leggett, David Hulme, Pete Norville, Harold Norville, Chris Edwards, David Edwards, Tom Edwards, Joe Norville and Sam Norville, The family would like to thank the staff of Jackson Madison County General Hopsital, Jackson Clinic, West Tennessee Hospice and the Tennessee State Veterans' Home in Humboldt and to all the family and friends for their love and support.
