Porter Morgan Savage, Jr.

Mr. Porter Morgan Savage, Jr., age 89 was called home on May 28, 2016. Born in Newbern, TN to Porter Morgan, Sr. and Callie Viola Savage. He was a World War II and Korean Conflict, Vietnam veteran of the United States Navy who dearly loved his country. Preceded in death by his parents: Porter Morgan Savage, Sr and Callie Viola Coulston Savage, first wife: Carol Jean Cockrill Savage and a sister: Virginia Thompson Cheatham. He is survived by his wife: Lina Hadley Savage, a sister: Betty Jones, two brothers: John and Mike Savage, children: Gary Savage (Sheri), Dianne Bradley (Jim), Kristie Schwartz (Steve), Peggy Savage, Randy Savage, ten grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Porter has many extended family and a host of friends. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Memphis National Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016, 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home, in Brownsville, TN.
