Phyllis' Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Ann Watson Hughes age 67 of Somerville, formerly of Haywood county passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on August 18, 1951 in Haywood County to the late Joseph Watson and Martha Johnson Watson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Watson and one sister, Norma Jean Watson Long.
She is survived by her husband Charles Hughes, two brothers, Sonny Watson of Brownsville and Lawrence Edward Watson of Whiteville, one sister, Kathy Sue Watson Doering of Dancyville and one niece, Martha Kirkland. Other survivors include fifteen nieces, twenty-two nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Paul Benard, Joey Benard, Charlie Moody, Billy Ray Hughes, Bryan Hughes and Billy Joe Watson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Wayne Watson, Jesse Kirkland, Charles Moody, Richard Rogers, Tony Edmunds and Tom Berry.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hughes will be conducted on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Grover Westover and Bro. Eddie Martin, officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery. The Hughes will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
