Patricia Mathes Tyus

Patricia Diane Mathes passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in Stanton, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Rev. James Humphries officiating. Burial will follow at Choady Cemetery in Stanton, TN. A visitation to receive friends and family will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 12 noon - 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Patricia Diane Mathes, was the first Born to Samuel Thomas Mathes Sr. and Lillie B. Mathes (mother proceeded her in death). Tricia accepted Christ at an early age in life. She was a loving Christian, daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. She graduated from Melrose High School in Memphis Tennessee. Tricia’s career path was in the medical field where she served as an LPN for many years. Tricia showed her medical skills lovingly to her Father during her last days. Tricia was married to John Layne Tyus for 33 years. She birthed two sons, Darrel Boyd and Johnathan Tyus. She has one grandaughter Saleema Boyd; four sisters Pamela, Patrice, Adrianne, Karen; eight brothers, Sam Jr, Timothy, Terron, Michael ( Lisa), Jerry, Jarvis, (Ashley) (Garry-Ervin) both proceeded her in death, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who loved her very much. She will truly be missed. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
