Oval's Obituary
Bro. Oval Leonard Hicks passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN.
Mr. Hicks was born in Decaturville, TN on December 10, 1920 to the late Will Hicks and wife, Edith Aaron Hicks. He attended Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Church and most recently First United Pentecostal Church in Humboldt, TN. He served our country in WWII in the United States Army. Bro. Hicks loved the Lord and preached the gospel for over 65 years.
In addition to his parents, Bro. Hicks is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Pearl Horner Hicks, one daughter, Faye Hicks Moore as well as his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by a son, James L. Hicks (Anne) of Decaturville, TN; two daughters, Brenda Keeton (James) of Bells, TN and Sally Mills of Florida; Grandchildren, Cindi Keeton Shellenberger (Mike), Vicki Keeton Grinder (David), Barry Weatherford, Keith Hicks (Gina), Brad Lomax, Jennifer Hicks Simmons (Michael) and Thad Lomax; Great Grandchildren, Chelsey King (Dustin), Wayne Maddox (Miranda), Taverner Maddox, Rachel Lomax, Ada Grinder, Lakeley Lomax, Angelina Hicks, Maggie Pearl Grinder, Kayla Shellenberger, Madison Shellenberger and Jordan Simmons; and Great Great Grandchildren, Peyton Moore, Gabe King, Dakota Maddox, Kenlee Maddox and Charley King.
Funeral Services for Bro. Oval Hicks will be conducted on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Mt. Tabor Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe McKnight, Rev. Ron Brown and Rev. Seth Wilkerson officiating. Bells Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour. Read More Read Less
