Odis' Obituary
Odis Elrod, age 79, of the Hillville Community, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at his residence. He was born and raised in the Hillville Community, a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, a veteran of the United States Army, a retired employee of Haywood Company with over 10 years service, and loved his family deeply. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Elrod; one son, Michael (Melinda) Elrod and one daughter, Connie (John) Perry, all of the Hillville Community; two brothers, James (Lucille) Elrod of Whiteville, TN, and Ted (Linda) Elrod of Somerville, TN; four sisters, Marie (Robert) Haase of Whiteville, TN, Mamie Sue (Lawrence) Watson of the Hillville Community, Nadine Crook of Collierville, TN, and Liz (Dane) Norwood of Stanton, TN; six grandchildren, Amber Renee Perry, Jessica (Chris) Mullins, Lauren Perry, Dayton Elrod, Brooks Smith and Lena Smith; and four great grandchildren, Zach Perry, Alyssa Perry, Terri Myrick and Mya Mullins. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes in Brownsville, TN. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM , Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in the Chapel of the Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes officiated by Bro. Jerry Wilson and Bro. David Reeves with interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Haase, Chris Mullins, John Perry, Jason Norwood, Brooks Smith, Zach Perry, Gerald Lewis, and Charles Moody. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Elrod and Mamie Dale Moore Elrod; five brothers, Richard Elrod, Dorris Elrod, Carl Elrod, Billy Elrod and Dan Elrod; and three sisters, Ann Young, Opal Phillips and Dorothy Elrod.
