Norma Nehrt Wallace

Norma L. Nehrt Wallace, 87, of Sparta passed away at 7:28 AM, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her home in Sparta. Norma was born on March 31, 1930, in Sparta, the daughter of William and Emelia (Lehr) Nehrt. She married Sam J. Wallace on May 5, 1999, in Sparta, and they shared nearly 18 years of marriage. Norma was a homemaker, and a member of the Calvary Church in Sparta. She loved playing the piano at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, and was a wonderful prayer warrior. Norma is survived by her husband; Sam J. Wallace, of Sparta, daughter; Karen (Jim) Reames, of Brownsville, Tennessee, son; Kevin (Stacy) Witbart, of Sparta, 4 grandchildren; Aaron and Lauren Reames, and Zach (Jen) Witbart, and Sarabeth Witbart, 2 great grandchildren; Evie and Axel Witbart. She is also survived by her brother; Dean Nehrt, of Sparta. Norma was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Calvary Church in Sparta, with Rev. Chris Scott officiating, and burial will follow at the Marissa Cemetery, Marissa, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the church where friends may call from 4 to 7 PM, and then on Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Church. Wilson’s Funeral Home in Steeleville is entrusted with the arrangements.
