Nita Pittman

Nita J. Phillips Pittman, age 64, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her residence in Whiteville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Brownsville Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Terry Logan officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Whiteville, TN.  Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Brownsville Funeral Home.  

Nita was born on August 19, 1959, in Whiteville, TN. She worked in Quality Control for Precision Coils. She loved family gatherings and spending time with those she loved. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

 

She is survived by her husband, James Pittman of Whiteville, TN; one daughter, Jamie Chapman (Tamarcus, Sr.) of Whiteville, TN; two sisters, Linda Jane Pittman and Elizabeth Ann Taylor (Sammy); two grandchildren, Taleigha Chapman and Tamarcus Chapman, Jr.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Phillips, Sr. and Lillie Oneida Kelley Phillips; three brothers, Edwin Phillips, Jr., Eddie Lee Phillips, and Jimmy Leon Phillips. 

Pallbearers for the service will be Cody Baggett, Phillip Pittman, Jason Phillips, Mark Francis, Zane Phillips and William T. Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Barry Pittman, Troy Phillips, Ronald “Pee Wee” Phillips, Aaron Martin, and Charles Andrew Phillips.  

The family has requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 1640, Hagerstown, MD 21741. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Brownville Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
