Myrtice's Obituary
Bells, TN – Mrs. Myrtice Lucielle Griffin, age 96 passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Crockett County on January 12, 1920 to the late Troy C. Ward and wife, Nancy Ethel Vines Ward. Myrtice was a homemaker and member of Midway Baptist Church.
Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband Samuel J. “Sam” Griffin; two brothers, Douglas Ward and Bernard Ward; a sister, Robertta Schutte and a great granddaughter, Deanna Lee Williams.
She is survived by three sons, Troy Griffin and wife, Mary Jo of Bells, TN, John W. Griffin and wife, Diane of Gadsden, TN and Tony Griffin and wife, Pam of Bells, TN; two daughters, Nancy Mayfield of Bells, TN and Joyce Ann Overton and husband, Albert of Dresden, TN; a brother, Doyle Ward of Gadsden, TN; and twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alan Griffin, Lee Overton, Anthony Griffin, Jason Overton, Parrish Griffin, David Lynn Williams, Jeremy Howell, Hunter Pigue, Andrew Wilson, Drew Griffin, Samuel Griffin and Briar Overton.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Myrtice Lucielle Griffin will be held in the Chapel of Bells Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Mike Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Oakview Memorial Park in Alamo. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Midway Baptist Church or Gideans International.
