Michele is a native of Collinsville, OK but moved to Tennessee in 1986 with her beloved husband, Thomas and daughter, Misty. She resided in Memphis, TN until she and her husband moved to Brownsville, TN in April 2021. Thomas passed in June 2021. Michele missed her Thomas every day since his passing. She longed for their reunion.
Michele was born on April 23, 1958, to Dean and Doretta Watson in Tulsa, OK. She was married to Thomas Shouse on February 11, 1977. Thomas and Michele met on a blind date at the age of 17, and as they say, “the rest is history.”
Michele worked for the University of Memphis parking office where she retired after 30 years of service in 2019. She loved to cook and would try any recipe she could. The harder the recipe looked, the more she wanted to try it. Jacob and Madison spent a lot of weekends with mamaw and papa when they were little. They would spend Saturday mornings making breakfast. Breakfast wouldn’t be complete without pancakes with food dye. The fun part was coming up with new colors. She loved to shop. Christmas time was always fun. You just never knew what kind of fun things would be wrapped under the tree. She had a caring heart and would do so much for others.
Michele was preceded in death by her father, Dean and her mother, Doretta. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, and one brother, David Watson.
Michele is survived by one daughter, Misty (Jarrod) of Brownsville, TN, one grandson, Jacob (Taylar) of Fort Stewart, GA, one granddaughter, Madison of Brownsville, TN, and one great-grandson, Grayson. She is also survived by a sister, Karen Watson of Collinsville, OK, Steve Watson (Cindy), of Owasso, OK, Carol Masters (Russell), of Covington, LA and Curt Allison of Canada, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
