Melvin Holcomb December 18, 1929 - August 28, 2014 Melvin Thomas Holcomb, age 84, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Crestview Healthcare and Rehabilitation located in Brownsville, Tennessee. Mr. Holcomb was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. He retired from Southwest Electric of Brownsville with 46 years of service and was a 50+ year member of the Ed Worsham Masonic Lodge #505 of Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 31, 2014, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum located in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 31, 2014, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum officiated by Rev. Bob Connerly and Rev. Ray Dixon. Special music will be provided by Bro. Art Garrett with entombment to follow in the mausoleum. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rosa Jones Holcomb; a son, Melvin Thomas Holcomb Jr., both of Brownsville, TN; one brother, Elton Earl (Martha) Holcomb of Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Wilbur Holcomb and Mary Parks Holcomb, and one grandson, Nathan Holcomb. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are Richard Carraway, Ronald Young, Romus Hight, Eddie Smith, Terry Brown, Ike Sellari and the Mens Sunday School class at Brownsville Baptist Church. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Baptist Women's Ministry at Brownsville Baptist Church.
