Mrs. Melba Cates, age 66, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home in Brownsville, Tennessee. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2015, 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, January 6, 2015, 1:00 -2:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Mrs. Cates was preceded in death by her parents: J.D. and Nora Hollawell Russell and a sister: Ann Canady. She is survived by her husband: Lynn Cates, two sons: Robby Cates (Lindsey), Kevin Cates, a brother: Billy Russell, a sister: Jean Gray (Richard), two grandsons: Russ Cates, Nathan Cates and a granddaughter: Jordan Cates, all of Brownsville, TN.
