Mavis' Obituary Mrs. Mavis Pauline Sykes Brooks, age 97, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2012 in the Bells Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph Waldo Sykes and Bertha Headrick Sykes Dotson; her step-father: Daniel Roy Dotson; her husband: Willie Albert Brooks; two brothers: Ralph Sykes and Waldo Emerson Sykes; two half Brothers: Roy Hensley Dotson; and Dennis Dale Dotson; three half sisters: Mildred Dotson Ellington, Nell Dotson Neatherley; and Ida Mae Dotson Fuson. Funeral services will be held under the direction of the Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes at Walnut Hill Baptist Church, Bells, TN, Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 3:00 P. .M. with Bro. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her daughter: Billie June Kirkpatrick, (Joe) of Bells, TN; a half brother: William Earl :Bill" Dotson, Memphis, TN; a half sister: Greta Garbo Dotson Lukenbill, Bells, TN; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a host of special nephews, nieces and many other family and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.
