Mattie Kelley Kellum, age 70, passed away at her residence in Whiteville, TN on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Funeral Services for Mrs. Kellum will be conducted on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Rev. Leroy Delaney officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Somerville, TN. Visitation for Mrs. Kellum will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mattie Kelley Kellum was born on August 10, 1949 in Brownsville, TN. She worked as a seamstress for Somerville Manufacturing in Fayette County. She is survived by her husband, Thermound Kellum of Whiteville, TN, one son, Thermound Lynn Kellum of Whiteville, TN, three daughters, Kathy Taylor (Mark) of Jackson, TN, Sylvia Price (Bill) of Whiteville, TN, Ashley Coulston (Rodney) of Brownsville, TN. She is also survived by two brothers, Morris Kelley, Jr. (Tess) of Whiteville, TN, Thomas Kelley (Diane) of Whiteville, TN, and six sisters, Martie Metzger (Thomas) of Brownsville, TN, Dorothy Howard of Brownsville, TN, Betsie Elrod (Donnie) of Savannah, TN, Mary Howard (David) of Whiteville, TN, Marilyn Bruce of Whiteville, TN, Gloria Pittman (Thomas) of Whiteville, TN. She leaves a legacy of seven grand-children, Leon, Cory, and Zack Taylor, Billy Ray and Claudia Price, Katelyn and Trent Coulston, and two great-grandchildren Kiah and Zayne Kellum. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Pauline Austin Kelley, and her two sisters Rita Phillips and Lucille Elrod.
