Mary Nell Tinker

Mary Nell Tinker, age 90, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, January 8, 2023, at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church, with Bro. Grover Westover officiating.  Burial to follow in the Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2023, at the Walnut Hill Baptist Church from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Mrs. Tinker was born in Brownsville, TN on June 1, 1933, to the late Talmege Clem and Stella Maybell Archer Clem.  She was a lifelong member of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church.  She worked for over 46 years, serving at Kellwood Company and Angelica of Alamo.  She was a devoted wife and mother, loving her family and helping others.  She loved to crochet and garden, loving flowers of all kinds, especially purple ones.  Being outside and attending church were her favorite hobbies.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 54 years:  Floyd Duie Tinker; two sons in law:  David Whittemore and Paul Wilcox; two brothers:  J.E. Clem and Billy Clem; one sister:  Joy Burilson; one grandson:  Alan Shane Williams.

She is survived by three daughters:  Angela Ellington (Joe) of Bells, TN, Tamara Whittemore of Alamo, TN, Laura Wilcox of Bells, TN; one sister:  Dorothy Cowan of Alamo, TN; She leaves a legacy of 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, with two more on the way.

Serving as pallbearers are David Whittemore, Jr., William Whittemore, Jesse Phillips, Richard Webb, Donnie Faukner and Joey Williams; Mr. Joe Ellington will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
