Mary Ann Shaw

Mrs. Mary Ann Bond Shaw, age 79, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Bells Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bells, TN. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Bob Connerley and Dr. Joe Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood. Mrs. Shaw was an educator in the Haywood County School System for 40 years teaching English and Journalism. She had a deep passion and love for educating children in our area. She was a faithful member of numerous clubs and organizations in Haywood County, and she had a special love for her pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Shaw; her parents, Elias King Bond and Mary Evelyn Farrar Bond and one brother, Judge John Bond. She was survived by her nephews, Patrick King Bond (Stephanie), Andrew McGill Bond, Eli Matthew Bond (Angie), Elias Shane Bond (Molly), John Bate Bond, Jr., (Karley) and Stephen Scofield; her nieces, Mary Margaret Lonon and Elizabeth Scofield; one brother, Dr. Elias King Bond, Jr. (Louanne); one sister, Helen Shelly (Jerry) and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for the service are Shane Bond, Bate Bond, Patrick Bond, Eli Bond, Walt Lonon and Jerry Shelly. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Brownsville Animal Shelter, c/o Sherry Batchelor, P.O. Box 449, Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
