Mrs. Mary Lou Byrd Mathias, age 77 passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in Crestview Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday evening, December 28, 2015, 5:00 PM - 7:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Mrs. Mathias was preceded in death by her husband: Macon Leroy Mathias, Sr., her parents: Albert and Martha Stoots Byrd, five brothers: Larry Byrd, Leroy Byrd, Robert Byrd, Jesse Byrd, Billy Byrd, a sister: Jenny Anderson and a grandson: Bradley Benard. She is survived by four sons: Terry Mathias, Providence, TN, Eddie Mathias, Brownsville, TN, Macon Mathias, Jr., Douglas, GA, Jerry Dale Mathias, Maury City, TN, three daughters: Becky Sanders, Brownsville, TN, Abby Cook and Carolyn Cook, both of Jackson, TN, three sisters: Shirley Doss, Providence, TN, Helen Vines, AZ, Betty Beshires, Brownsville, TN, eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Lea and Simmons Funeral Home toward funeral expenses.
