Martha Barbara Layne

Martha Barbara Layne age 83, of Gates, TN passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at her residence. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Layne will be held at Concord United Methodist Church located on Concord Rd in Gates, TN on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. Genesis rites have been accorded. Barb was born on October 9th, 1937 in Gates, TN to the late Harry Wade and Jessie Mae White. Also preceding her in death was her sister, Carolyn Moore. Barb was an active member of the Gates community by volunteering at the local Library. She enjoyed volunteering at the Helen Tucker Center, gardening, and cooking for her family. Her greatest joy was helping others and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Norman Layne Sr; her five Children: Norman Layne Jr., Laura Layne, Jeffery Layne, Steven Layne and Cindy (Bubba) Wright; one sister: Carley Savage. She leaves a legacy of three Grandchildren: Angela (Morgan)Chalk, Brandy (Jake) Cargill and Gage Layne; and five Great Grandchildren: Taylor Briggs, Breana Cargill, Austin Briggs, Brendan Massicotte and Elizabeth Wright.
